Twenty10 volunteers contribute their valuable skills and time to assist us in providing a safe and welcoming place for GLBT young people.

What do volunteers do at Twenty10?

Volunteers are essential in supporting the work of the Twenty10 staff. Volunteers assist with providing hospitality at our drop-in centre and helping with the co-facilitation of our groups programs.

The Twenty10 Board is made up of volunteers who contribute their time and skills to ensuring that the governance of Twenty10 is sound and supporting the work of the staff.

Where a volunteer has a particular skill that is useful to our clients, we sometimes create specific projects for that volunteer to work on.

What is required of me as a volunteer?

You time commitment as a volunteer is a flexible thing, but our recommendation is 4 hours a week, fortnight or month.

Volunteers must complete an induction training course that introduces them to the work of Twenty10, the skills involved in working with young people and the Code of Conduct that they are expected to work under. Volunteers also must obtain a personal record check from NSW Police and provide a copy to Twenty10. This needs to be paid for by the volunteer.

Due to the requirements of our Code of Conduct, we ask that only people over the age of 26 volunteer at Twenty10.
