SUPPORT US AND OUR WORK

Although the services we provide have the greatest impact and reach we have ever had – our work is far from over. The recently released Writing Themselves in 4, The Health and Wellbeing of LGBTIQA+ Young People in Australia, NSW Summary Report found;

  • 21.8% of participants had experienced one or more forms of homelessness in their lifetime, 10.5% in the last 12 months
  • 27% reported that their experience/s of homelessness were related to being LGBTIQA+
  • 39.9% had self-harmed within the past 12 months
  • 58.9% of all participants had seriously considered attempting suicide in the previous 12 months, and over one-quarter 26.2% of all participants and 27.1% of those aged 16-17 had attempted suicide in their lifetimes
  • 10.2% had attempted suicide in the last 12 months and 26.2% had done so at some point in their lifetime.

This research data tells us that now, as much as ever, young LGBTIQA+ people in NSW need the specialist support of services such as Twenty10.

With your support, we can continue to grow our mental health support services, our services for regional young people and for those living in Western Sydney. Whether that’s through donating, spreading the word about our work, sharing our work online, or just dropping by at our events, we want to thank you for every little moment you share with us and our communities.

Other Ways to Give

Your support means the world to our young LGBTIQA+ folks, who receive life-changing support through Twenty10. Here are some other ways you can help Twenty10 and give to our community.

Corporate Giving Programs

Direct Debit Your Donation

Life and work can get busy. Want to donate but never get around to hitting the submit button? Ask your HR department or colleagues if your company has a giving program. They often auto deduct so you don’t even notice how much you are helping. It might be that your company matches it and you can double your donation! Twenty10 is registered for a range of corporate giving platforms – get in touch to find out more.

Trusts and Foundations

Shared Goals

Twenty10 have a wealth of experience working with trusts and foundations, and can work closely with you as the donor or representative of the trust or foundation to achieve our shared goals. They can range from direct service delivery, capacity building or other resources and advocacy. Get in touch to find out more.

Fundraising & Crowdfunding

Support Community With Community

Fun-runs, walk-a-thons, even bake sales are excellent fundraising methods to raise much-needed funds to assist Twenty10 in supporting vulnerable LGBTIQA young people and adults.

Whether you plan to fundraise by yourself or with friends, at school or at work, you can make a difference. Your tax-deductible donation will support our unfunded services and expand the reach of our funded services so we can improve the lives of vulnerable and marginalised LGBTIQA+ people.

Birthdays, Bequests & Nuptials

Celebrate & Commemorate

Some folks choose to celebrate their milestone birthdays or marriages by asking guests to make a donation to Twenty10 rather than purchase gifts. Set up a crowdfunding page like through GiveNow to donate to Twenty10. Others choose to make a bequest to Twenty10 in their will, part of their life legacy that continues to make a positive impact on the lives of others. We have all the information below that you or your family member/friend as well as your legal representative needs to do this.

After providing for your family and friends, you may wish to leave a gift to Twenty10 in your will. There are a variety of choices available to you in making this gift:

  • The whole of the estate;
  • The residue of the estate;
  • A percentage of the estate;
  • A specific amount of money;
  • A house or property;
  • Various other arrangements that your lawyer could advise on.

A solicitor, trustee company or the Public Trustee will be able to help you with the various wordings and documentation required in the preparation of your will. The attached file has some suggested wordings that you can discuss with your legal advisor.

You may wish to see a sample bequest wording, viewable here.
