What is CAMP OUT?
Camp Out is a 5-night-long camp for queer, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, sex & gender diverse people, same sex attracted folk and their allies and support people. All campers must be aged between 13 and 17 years old (high school age).
At CAMP OUT you can:
Learn photography, radio production, recording your own music, animation, cooking, screen printing, DIY zines, badge making, performance, dance, make up application, bike maintenance, fashion, video production.
Make art, build your own instrument, start a band, grow your own food, talk politics, go canoeing, play soccer and many other activities!
As well as typical camp activities there is informal workshops and discussions on things like identity, same sex attraction, what it means to be 'queer identified' or questioning your gender & sexual orientation, dealing with homophobia and transphobia, coming out in high school and to your friends and parents, sexual health and being a totally tuff queer ally!
Camp Out is being organised be a crew of independant queers. They have backgrounds in youth work, queer community organising, support, work, art, music and teaching. E-mail for an application form.
