Twenty10 values ethical research
Twenty10 is proud to be the leading agency on working with young people, communities and families of diverse genders and sexualities. We aim to always be improving our practice and our understanding of the values that underpin our work. For this reason, we are keen to support ethical and well planned research that explores and develops the fields in which we work. Due to the quantity of requests we receive to participate in or endorse research, we have established a process of application.

Ethics Approval Process
In order for Twenty10 to participate in your research project, approval needs to be sought from Twenty10's Research and Ethics Committee. The Committee meets on the first Tuesday of every second month. Applications, with supporting documentation, needs to be received at least two weeks prior to each meeting.
The Committee considers each application on the following guidelines and may seek external advice when appropriate or necessary.
Criteria and Guidelines for Assessment
- The research will advance scientific and academic bodies of knowledge and result in demonstrated additional benefit to queer communities;
- There is queer involvement in all aspects of the proposed research, including research design, ownership of data, data interpretation, and publication of research findings;
- Young people and organisations are to be reimbursed for all costs arising from their participation in the research process; and
- Young people and organisations are able to benefit from the transfer of skills and knowledge arising from the project.
