History of Twenty10

Twenty10 was established in Darlinghurst around 1982 in response to the large lesbian and gay homeless population, particularly those engaged in sex work. This is argued to be the first welfare response by the lesbian and gay community to support young lesbians and gays. Our name comes from the postcode of Darlinghurst – 2010.

Since its inception Twenty10 has developed a broader mandate which includes medium term supported accommodation, as well as a wide range of support services for young GLBT people and their families.
