Today is the 12th anniversary of the National Apology to the Stolen Generations.
While Kevin Rudd’s speech was a symbolic step, there is still much work to be done. We acknowledge the large disparities in health (including mental health), homelessness, and continued family removals (among many others) that exist for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples throughout Australia. We strive to use our privilege as a settler organisation to address these disparities.
We live, work and play on land traditionally held by the Gadigal people of the Eora nation. Always has been, always will be Aboriginal land.
