Our behind-the-scenes roles include helping with projects, events and admin tasks
Behind the Scenes Volunteer Roles
Some Volunteer roles are behind the scenes, but that doesn’t make them any less important to our work or the impact they have on helping LGBTIQA+ young people and adults.
- our part-time reception and admin volunteers support our general office administration both in and out of our Chippendale office in Sydney
- our project volunteers provide practical support on a range of one-off or short projects and events, available a few times each year
- corporate or team volunteering might involve getting a group of people together to do some hands-on activity for the day such as cooking meals for homeless youth or painting one of our housing units
- Twenty10 incorporating GLCS NSW is governed by a skills-based board of volunteers. Positions are available from time to time. Prior board experience is desirable but not essential.

Part-time Reception and Admin Support
Duties are really diverse but can include tasks such as answering the telephone, collecting mail, checking voicemail, tidying and light maintenance, watering plants, and stocking the pantry.
Project and Event Volunteers
Our project volunteers help us out from time to time with practical assistance on one-off or short term projects or events – such as gardening and simple home maintenance, painting & decorating, clean-out days, fundraising and other projects.
Event volunteers may help out on information stalls and represent Twenty10 at external events as well as helping us with internal Twenty10 events throughout the year.
We email our list of project and event volunteers (blind cc) as opportunities arise, and they reply on an opt-in basis to projects or events that they are available for.
