This year a record number of people marched with Twenty10 inc GLCS NSW for our Flaming Futures and QLife floats. We had an amazing time and we want to share it with the world!

Getting ready

Before the parade, we met at Twenty10 to get dressed and ready to go. Regrette and volunteer Jacob were on hand to help with makeup and costumes!

Once everyone was made up and ready to go, we learned the dance from our choreographer Tim. We danced to music by BTS, Montaigne, Tkay Maidza, and Avicii.

At Hyde Park

When we were all ready, we walked in groups to the parade marshalling area. The atmosphere was electric, with so much excitement for the 40th Mardi Gras! We met our friends from QLife at the park and headed in to join the parade.

We waited in the marshalling area for a while, and practiced the dance a bit more before we started to march.

And we’re off!

After a late start, we began our journey down Oxford St. We danced, vogued and posed our way to Moore Park with the encouragement of the crowd! Our Flaming Futures theme reminded everyone to “be yourself, and don’t leave anyone behind.”

Behind us, the QLife float celebrated 45 years of telephone counselling in New South Wales. They brought a message of positivity and support to all who need it.

When we made it to Moore Park, we were all exhausted, but so energised and excited for what our Flaming Futures will bring.

Twenty10 has an epic year planned for 2018. The next big event will be Glitter Ball in Casula on April 7. We’re excited to see you there!
