Twenty10 Incorporating GLCS NSW’s mission is to engage, empower and improve the lives of people of diverse genders, sexualities and intersex variations (LGBTIQA+) communities. Our vision is a world where people of all genders, sexualities and intersex variations are equal, affirmed, secure and connected. We want everyone to experience positive health outcomes and live in a society without discrimination, oppression or violence.
We believe the recent comments on social media and broadcast radio made by Prime Minister Scott Morrison are extremely disappointing. Whilst we understand that every person living in Australia has the right to voice their opinions, our elected leaders have a unique responsibility to work towards creating a safer country for everyone, especially children and young people in minority populations.
Twenty10 provide training and resources to a wide range of health services, community organisations, corporations, educational settings and other businesses. Our training assists clients to better understand the lived experience of LGBTIQA+ communities and equip them to ensure they are working towards a supportive, inclusive and discrimination free workplace or learning institution.
When organisations provide safer spaces for students and workers, those in our communities from diverse genders, sexualities and/or intersex variations are able to access the same opportunities as their peers. Education and advocacy is an essential component of the work that we do, and so many other organisations working in the sector, to better the lives of LGBTIQA+ communities and young people.
We look forward to working with our elected leaders to improve the health and wellbeing of all young people, regardless of their gender, sex, sexual orientation, intersex variations, ability, religion or cultural background.
